Cathodic corrosion protection (CCP) – self-sufficient and online monitored

For almost 3 years we are monitoring the function of a KKS system, which protects the reinforcement of a bridge console against further progressing corrosion.

A great simplification of this application is that the cathodic corrosion protection (with zinc hydrogel foil, explanation in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cathodic_protection) and our monitoring unit are self-sufficient – i.e., both do not need a fixed power supply.

Another special feature is that the data is always available online and thresholds are monitored automatically. Even the “shutdown measurement”, which needs to be carried out regularly according to EN ISO 12696, happens remotely. No one needs to go on-site!

We think this is an attractive method for corrosion protection!
